AN EMBLEM OF THE RESURRECTION, FIGUR'D OUT BY A WORM AND A
BUTTERFLY.
A despicable creature is a worm----
His name in contempt, serves for every turn;
He feeds upon the dust, from when he came;
And when he dies lies mould'ring in the same.
Entomb'd in his dark cell, confin'd doth lie,
Yet from the dust is rais'd a butterfly.
He's rais'd indeed to a superior light,
And now appears more beautiful and bright:
He soars aloft and takes a pleasing view
Of what each day and hour produces new,
The flowry fields yields him delight and food,
Where he enjoys the best created good.
